Holsworth funds student's forestry research
PhD student Helen Stephens
has been awarded a $7,500 grant from the Holsworth Wildlife
Research Endowment to support her research into the
conservation value of aggregated retention for small to
medium-sized mammals.
Helen is investigating the effect of forestry treatments
(aggregated retention and clearfell, burn and sow) and habitat
variables on mammal biodiversity, and species ecology, physiology
and community structure.
The funding will provide much needed monitoring equipment and
will help to cover travelling costs to her sites in the Styx and
Huon valleys.
